How to Evaluate Online Supplement Reviews

Fake reviews are widespread. The FTC now prohibits fake and AI-generated consumer reviews, but they still appear.

Signs a review may be fake

  • Vague, overly enthusiastic language
  • Many reviews posted on the same days
  • Reviewer accounts with no other activity
  • Only appears on the seller's own website

Undisclosed incentives

Reviews written in exchange for free products or payment should be disclosed. Review sites with affiliate links should say so.
